So my inverter died after 15 years and now every solar company around me refuses to touch it. They all say they only service what they installed, which means if your original installer is out of business, your warranty is useless. The only company from back then that's still around isn't even willing to help. Replacing the inverter has turned into a full DIY project, and adding battery backup or expanding the system is a nightmare unless the original company is still in business. This is a huge problem nobody really talks about.
