I'm all in for solar power and all that good stuff, but I know there are things that I'll need to consider, so I hope to get some answers here.

Welcome aboard @Elephanter1. Solar can be awesome if it’s sized right, especially out in Colorado. What are you mainly trying to power and are you thinking grid-tied or off-grid?

Solar is definitely worth it in Colorado — plenty of sun most of the year. I’ve been running a grid-tied system with battery backup for a couple of years now.
What size system are you thinking about and what do you want to power? Whole house, just critical loads, workshop, or something smaller to start? Also, off-grid or grid-tied with net metering? That makes a big difference in sizing and what equipment you’ll need.
